Chauncey placed 4th in sport and 3rd in speed
climbing at the USA Climbing nationals in
Sunnyvale which landed her on the US
Climbing team for sport and speed.
The US Team will be traveling to Sydney, Australia the last week in August for the World climbing championships.
While in Sunnyvale, I took a number of pictures, mostly of Chauncey (she’s my kid afterall :-), but also has some other shots of other climbers.
Here are the 16-17 girls who are on the US team for sport:
From left to right in order of finish: Tiffany Hensley (1st), Marah Bragdon, Sasha DiGiulian, Chauncenia Cox, Jesse Youngwerth. Chauncey and Jesse are both from Colorado and family friends.
The event was great and the crowd had some of the best viewing of any US Nationals.
Here are some of my full photo albums from the event
Qualifiers Day 1
Semi-finals Day 2
Finals Day 3
Chauncey and I also visited Stanford and then went to Santa Cruz and up the coast to Half Moon Bay and the Mavericks.
